Multiple traffic violations driver leads NYPD officers on chase

In New York City, as well as in other cities all throughout the U.S., traffic laws are created and enacted in order to maintain order on the streets and protect those who use them. In the event a motorist is caught violating one of those laws by law enforcement officers, they could face a range of consequences, including fines, points or even a jail sentence, depending on the charges.

A man who was arrested after leading police on a chase reportedly has a number of outstanding traffic violations. According to reports, the man fled from police, first in his car and then on foot. It remains unknown to the public what caused the chase. It is possible authorities were attempting to pull the man over for another violation of traffic laws.

When he was finally located, the man was taken into custody. A judge reportedly set bail at $30,000. According to reports, as a result of the incident, the man is now facing a number of criminal charges in addition to his prior traffic violations. The charges include criminal mischief, fleeing in a vehicle from a police officer and reckless endangerment.

If you have been charged with a serious traffic violation, or feel you have been unfairly ticketed, it may be beneficial to consult with an experienced attorney. A lawyer will be able to offer advice based on your particular situation and help you determine how best to proceed. Legal counsel is also available to address concerns and answer questions as they arise.
