Man beats odds, wins speeding ticket appeal

Every day, there are drivers in New York City, and other cities all across the U.S., who are issued tickets by law enforcement officers. Most of the time, motorists accept the ticket and the consequences that come with it, but sometimes, however, a driver may choose to fight a traffic ticket.

Traffic court appeals are often difficult, but there are cases in which a driver may be able to beat a traffic ticket.  Recently a judge in Ohio ruled in favor of a man who contested a speeding ticket. The man reportedly claimed the vehicle he was driving would not have been able to get up to the speed he was alleged to have been driving at in the distance he had traveled when he was pulled over.

Purportedly clocked at 41 mph, he was accused of driving close to 20 mph over the posted speed limit and faced a $100 fine. The man, an attorney, reportedly claims mistaken identity is to blame for the speeding ticket, but it remains unknown to the public whether there were any other vehicles traveling in the same area at the time the excessive speed was observed and the ticket was issued.

If you have been charged with a traffic violation and are planning on contesting the ticket, you may find it helpful to consult with an experienced attorney. Legal counsel will be able to offer you advice based on your situation and help you to fully understand your options, as well as address any questions or concerns you may have.
