Grand jury to hear speeding case

People in New York can receive driving violations for many reasons. These may include speeding, driving with suspended or revoked drivers’ licenses, driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, failing to obey traffic signals or signs and more. The penalties for each type of violation vary based upon a variety of factors. While many drivers must end up paying fines and having points added to their driving records, such actions need not necessarily result in all situations.

Every driver deserves the ability to fight a traffic ticket and the laws guarantee this right. A well-known rapper is in the process of such a traffic ticket defense for citations he received earlier this year. Sources have indicated that the man attorney has been working with the prosecution team on a plea bargain but no details have been provided on this and it is unknown if that has happened or will happen.

At this time, the man has pled guilty allegations of possession of marijuana, speeding and driving without a driver’s license. The rapper received the citations while driving on Meadowbrook Parkway in Long Island in January. He was en route to his mother’s funeral when he was stopped. His case is currently scheduled to be heard by a grand jury unless some other agreement is made with the district attorney’s office.

Drivers facing one or more citations that include some traffic violations may wish to consult with private attorneys to learn their options for a defense. Doing so may be one way to reduce the penalties they receive.
