Police charge woman who drove to station impaired

A DUI or DWI has the potential to hurt anyone's prospects in the future. Whether you plan to get licensed as a professional of some kind or just need to drive to work, a DWI or DUI could hurt your ability to do so.

Sometimes, people just make bad decisions. Other times, someone who tried to make a good decision ends up in a bad situation by no fault of his or her own. This is why a strong DUI defense is important for your case.

Take, for example, this case out of Mount Olive. According to the news article from June 27, the authorities reported that there was a woman who made the mistake of driving to a police station while she was still intoxicated. Her intention was to pick up a man who had been charged for driving while under the influence.

The 49-year-old woman allegedly appeared impaired when she arrived, but she still attempted to pick up her 45-year-old companion. The man had made an illegal turn from Route 46 when he was pulled over and arrested by police. He called the 49-year-old woman to get a ride home from the station. The police allege that the woman failed sobriety tests at the station but did not state if she was given a Breathalyzer test.

This is an unusual situation, but it's one that could have lasting implications for either person involved. It's wise to keep in mind that not all instances that lead to arrest are legal and that there are potential defenses for anyone who is facing trouble with the law.
